NHSRCL Signs MoU With Japanese Agency For High-Speed Rail Line Between Vadodara And Ahmedabad

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), on Thursday (11 November), signed an MoU with Japan Railway Track Consultant Co Limited (JRTC) for the designs of High-Speed Rail (HSR) track works.

This MoU is for the T3 package of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor Project. 116 km long T3 package runs between Vadodara and Sabarmati Depot in Gujarat.

JRTC will provide detailed design and drawings of HSR track components like RC track bed, track slab arrangement and continuous Welded Rail (CWR) etc.

Speaking on occasion, Rajendra Prasad, Director Project of NHSRCL said that this MoU signing is the culmination of hard work put in by JICC, JRTC and NHSRCL teams. He added that JRTC is the only specialised agency for this highly technical work. He said that with their cooperation, they are hopeful to finalise track designs quickly.

NHSRCL has earlier signed MoU for designs of HSR track and tracks works for the T-2 package (237 km long section) between Vadodara and Vapi in Gujarat.

The MAHSR project is the first High-Speed Rail corridor to be implemented in India. It is being executed with technical and financial assistance from the Government of Japan.

With a total of twelve stations in the States of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the MAHSR corridor will have a length of 508.17 Km.
